Many thanks for your patience so far.
Both ▬▬▬▬ and ▬▬▬▬ provided me with some great feedback (unfortunately it's our company policy to not give our detailed feedback) and they really enjoyed the interesting discussion they had with you, unfortunately the feedback score did not pass the bar to be able to invite you for an onsite interview.
However, I do encourage you to reapply for other positions that you might find interesting or re-apply in one year or so.
Let's keep in touch!
Thanks for your efforts and wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
Thanks for taking the time to interview with us last week, we greatly appreciate your time and consideration. Unfortunately, the team has decided to move forward with other candidates at this time. I wish I had better news to share, but sometimes are managers are forced to make these difficult decisions.
Thanks again for considering Apple and best of luck in your job search!
We're sorry to say we couldn't accept your proposal for funding. Please don't take it personally. The applications we receive get better every funding cycle, and since there's a limit on the number of startups we can interview in person, we had to turn away a lot of genuinely promising groups.
Unfortunately we can't give you individual feedback about your application. This page explains why: ▬▬▬▬
Another reason you shouldn't take this personally is that we know we make lots of mistakes. It's alarming how often the last group to make it over the threshold for interviews ends up being one that we fund. That means that surely other good groups that fall just below the threshold and that we miss even interviewing.
We're trying to get better at this, but the hard limit on the number of interviews means it's practically certain that groups we rejected will go on to create successful startups. If you do, we'd appreciate it if you'd send us an email telling us about it. We want to learn from our mistakes.

Thanks again for applying for the MLH Fellowship (Fall 2020). Unfortunately, after careful review, we have decided to reject your application at this time.
After reviewing your sample code, our interviewers did not feel confident that you have the right skillset for one of our openings in the program. Specifically, we felt lik the sample you submitted lacked polish that we'd like to see from applicants. While we know that one code sample may not be representative of your full abilities, unfortunately we need to be highly selective due to the limited capacity of the program and overwhelming volume of applications we receive.
The most common causes for this feedback are large commented out sections of code, forgotten debugging print statements, extra test files that shouldn't have been committed, and general code organization. When you're asked to submit a code sample for a job or highly selective educational program like ours, it's best practice to pay special attention to code quality. This helps ensure the interview can easily understand the code and that they fully grasp your abilities.
We know this is difficult news to hear, especially because the MLH Fellowship is an educational program designed to help aspiring technologists like you level up. However, this rejection is not us saying "Never", instead it's us saying "Not right now". We hope that you'll learn from the feedback included below and use it to apply again for a future batch with an even stronger application!
We wish you the best of luck and hope to see you reapply for a future batch after incorporating this feedback.
The MLH Fellowship Team.
